The Monument Youth Drug & Alcohol Coalition (MYDAC) is a group of Concord residents, volunteers, and local organizations committed to changing social norms and policies that contribute to youth access to alcohol and drugs in the Monument Corridor.

Mission: To reduce youth alcohol and other drug use in the Monument Community through community education, policy change, and advocacy.

Goals: (1) To advocate for public policy to address youth access to and misuse of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs. (2) To empower the community by raising awareness about the harms of drug use and promoting healthy coping strategies through education and advocacy. (3) To build and maintain a healthy community by supporting preventive and wellness services, environmental safety, youth development, and mental health.

MYDAC is one of many Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) programs that aims to promote the healthy development of individuals and families, encourage service and volunteerism, and help build community. Housed in BACR's Engaging Communities in Policy & Advocacy (ECAP) team, MYDAC facilitates community-based public health education and advocacy. The ECAP team works across multiple health issue areas including tobacco, nutrition, and other drugs with a common mission of engaging communities in dismantling structural, race-based barriers to health.

MYDAC meets bi-monthly on Wednesdays. SUBSCRIBE to join our meetings.
